Leather Collar & Lead Care Guide

Leather is a natural product that will improve and soften with age. If the leather becomes saturated, allow it to air dry naturally, and we recommend you treat it occasionally with a leather conditioner to keep it looking its best!

Leather is naturally porous, and some colour bleed may occur.

Martingale Collar & Lead Care Guide

If your collar or lead gets dirty over time, you can give them a hand wash using warm water. We do not recommend putting these collars or leads in the machine as it may damage the hardware attached.

Jumper Care Guide

Wool: Wool is a delicate fabric, so we recommend hand-washing.

When handwashing, I would recommend turning the garment inside out, then swish about in the water and soak for about 10 minutes. Wool cleans fairly easily so there is no need to rub or squeeze so much, especially because wool matts up (felts) and can shrink if you apply too much mechanical action when it’s wet. If you’re going to hand wash a garment, you should use as little rubbing and squeezing as you can get away with, so a simple soak is often enough to clean the garment.

Avoid using hot water; the hotter it is, the more likely the wool is to felt. Personally, I never wash in anything other than cold water – the detergents are that good these days.

Merino Wool: Machine washable on gentle/wool cycle using a wool detergent. Wash all colours separately as some colours may run in their first few washes. Drip dry in the shade.

Polyester / Cotton Mix (Navy & Navy Stripe Jumpers): You can wash these on a cool (below 30 degrees) delicate machine wash. Do not tumble dry.

Waxed Cotton Care Guide

As a specialised garment, this fabric needs special attention to maintain its weatherproofing qualities. We stock a really easy to use reproofed; we recommend you apply this at the beginning of each winter season or when you notice your coat is not repelling the rain as well as it used to.

We recommend that any dirt is removed by brushing it off or sponge down with cold water only. If the garment does require a complete clean, we recommend using specialised Wool/Oilskin detergent or pure soap. I would not recommend putting the coat in your washing machine, just a lukewarm hand wash. You must leave the coat out to air dry whenever it becomes wet; if you leave the coat damp, it may produce mould.

Please note, the garment will require reproofing if it is washed using soap or detergent, as this will remove the layer, which makes the coat weatherproof.

How do I reproof my garment?

If you need to reproof your coat, this is easily done once you find the right product. We love two brands, one of which we stock; we have also used a brand from http://www.drizabone.com.au/ or can be found on eBay by searching oilskin reproofing. Follow the instructions on the tin you buy.

We offer a reproofing service and advice on our Instagram story, or you can contact us.
